During March, two events were held across Derbyshire to celebrate the work of Derbyshire Local Involvement Network (LINk) and to look forward to the future of Healthwatch Derbyshire (HWD).
On 1st April, 2013, HWD replaced Derbyshire LINk as the new local patient and public champion for health and social care. Having taken over Derbyshire LINk’s responsibilities of gathering and representing the community’s views to influence and improve health and social care, HWD has also taken on additional responsibilities such as signposting.
There was a positive turn out at both events, and presentations looking back at the 5 years of LINk, and forward to the future of Healthwatch, were well received. Workshops provided feedback as to what attendees recognised as the most important achievements of LINk and what changes it was felt could improve the future delivery of HWD. The information collated has since been disseminated to the HWD Executive Board members and staff for consideration in the planning on how the new organisation is to be run.
If you have anything to say on your local health and social care services in Derbyshire, please contact HWD using the details below. HWD gives the Derbyshire public a strong, independent and collective voice and whilst we do not act on specific individual issues, they do offer a signposting service and provide advice and information to the public about accessing health and social care services.
